Ranovus Expands in Ottawa with Over $100M Investment, Creating 125 New Jobs

Ottawa, August 20, 2025 — Invest Ottawa is proud to celebrate Ranovus Inc.’s announcement of more than $100 million in new investment to expand its advanced optical semiconductor manufacturing facility in Ottawa. In support of this investment, Ontario is providing up to $2 million in funding through the Invest Ontario Fund. This major expansion will create 125 highly skilled jobs and strengthen Canada’s capital as a hub for semiconductor innovation and critical technologies.

Founded in Ottawa in 2012, Ranovus is a homegrown success story driving breakthroughs in optical interconnect solutions, a type of semiconductor that accelerates data transfers while reducing delays and power consumption in data centres. These technologies are vital to scaling artificial intelligence and machine learning infrastructure across industries, including manufacturing, defence, and automotive. Today, Ranovus solutions power global semiconductor leaders such as AMD, MediaTek, and Cerebras (DARPA).
