In this practical and forward-looking session, we’ll unpack the full scope of Bill 149 and explore how to transform new legal obligations into strategic opportunities and a competitive advantage for talent.

Ontario’s Bill 149 is going to reshape how organizations attract, hire, and retain talent. Compliance is required effective January 1, 2026 but employers must take action today.

Employers will soon be required to disclose salary ranges on public job postings, identify the use of AI in hiring, and more. But compliance is only the beginning, successful organizations will need to strategically navigate these changes – and it might be more complex than you think.

This isn’t just about “posting a number”, we’ll dig into the nuanced decisions employers must make, including:

  1. Setting and Sharing Pay Ranges: How wide is too wide? What signals are you sending to talent and competitors? Do you post your exact range? The bottom 80% only?
  2. Internal Pay Equity Impacts: How public ranges impact your existing team and what you can do about it before going live.
  3. Competitive Positioning: How to benchmark externally to attract the right talent, while preserving your compensation strategy and employer brand.
  4. AI Use in Hiring: Understanding the new requirement to disclose if you’re using AI in the hiring process.
  5. Preparing Leadership and Hiring Managers: How to align messaging, train teams, and communicate changes internally and externally.

You’ll walk away with actionable tools, a concrete strategic understanding, and key considerations to ensure your company is not just compliant – but confident and competitive under Ontario’s evolving employment laws.

While these rules apply only to companies with more than 25 employees, smaller teams and startups also have to consider the impacts of sharing – or not sharing salaries, when everyone else is.
